Abecedarion
Lines must start with each letter of the Alphabet
Abracadabra, a magical word,
brought forth a Genii from gourd,
Beguiling, he said unto me,
ask anything you like, for a fee.
Caught up in his smile I went right along,
thinking I can never go wrong.
Devil he was under that skin,
he cleverly sucked me right in.
Enter a fairy right then and there,
she said I‘m to see him play fair.
Forgive me for thinking I was on a winner,
I should have known they’d eat me for dinner.
Given the pair I decided to play,
I’ve regretted it right to this day.
He winked his one eye and said make a wish,
I asked for a fish and up came a dish.
I’m sorry he said my hearings not good,
please try again, it was stuck in the mud.
Just then a young girl came passing by,
I wished for her lips and she heaved a big sigh.
Kisses she gave, more than a dozen,
then it turned out she was really my cousin!
Look here I said no more of your tricks,
what I would like is to go to the flicks.
Make way down there, let this lad through,
I got such a shock to be in a Zoo.
Now tigers are ok caged nice and neat,
but not when you might be their meat.
Open the cages, I cried mighty loud,
but they thought I was just fun for the crowd.
Perhaps he’s a keeper I heard a girl say,
maybe they’ll eat him, for that I would pay.
Quite right her father replied,
serve him right for being inside.
Right then the Fairy appeared waving her wand,
then mighty quick from the Zoo I was gone.
So back to the Genii I asked for some tea,
to my surprise I was right up a tree.
There, with birds, I saw I had feathers,
I now could fly high no matter the weather
Up and away I flew so high in the sky,
I had not seen an eagle passing me by.
Veering down, he swooped upon me,
and scooped me up for his tea.
With feathers torn from ear to ear,
I was filled with a dreadful fear.
Xmas was coming early for some little chicks,
I would have been better at the Flicks.
You’d all be better leaving safely stored,
a mischievous Genii in his gourd.
Zany, zany, he may seem to be, but you see,
you may end up served to chicks, like me!
